The studio is owned and operated
by Dave Magill, a multi-instrumental musician, MIDI composer and recording
engineer. It serves as a comfortable environment for folks to create |
 |
their musical projects, as well as a composing
suite where Dave can be found at all hours of the day and night.

| THE
BASIC STUDIO SETUP
Our recording equipment is computer-based, using Digital Performer
on a Mac G5 as the basic recording and MIDI sequencing engine.
It's versatile and sounds great. Audio tracks in all the standard
formats can be imported and exported, so if you have already
begun a project elsewhere and desire additional tracks, I
can load your existing tracks in with a few deft clicks of
the mouse, and start creating new ones right alongside them.
These new tracks can in turn be sent to another studio if,
for example, your project is already in progress and you'd
simply like us to contribute some piano, strings, horns or
what-have-you. I'm a big fan of inter-studio collaboration,
and current digital technology makes this especially convenient.

| For piano sounds I use a combination of sources, including
Synthogy's Ivory sample-based virtual instrument (highly
realistic) and Roland's piano sample from the "Session"
expansion card. |
|
| Additional software plug-ins include Waves mastering
and Antares Auto-tune. |
| Additional outboard gear includes various compressors,
reverbs and guitar processing equipment. |
| We have a nice variety of acoustic and electric guitars
and basses, as well as access to some great studio players
from the region. |
|
| Synthesizers are Roland XV-5080 and JV-2080 models,
both extremely powerful (and musical) tools, further extended
with various expansion cards for bass, drums, keyboard
and orchestral instruments. |
| Studio monitors are Mackie HR824s. |
